Visited today - was by the hair salon and decided to pop in to get something for lunch. Ladies serving were extremely busy making food but still made all customers feel welcomed! The cafe was busy and had a lovely atmosphere and the food arrived quickly. Cooked freshly, hot and delicious. I already can't wait to come back! Can't believe I haven't been here before!

Have been eating at Scrummies in Maghull from the day it open have always found all the staff to be polite and curious very clean and professional. Nicky the owner will always give you recommendations for food if you don't know what you want, all food cooked fresh. Over all a excellent experience into food heaven.

Kev and Nikki have just done the amazing buffet for my recent party at Maghull Town Hall . From the moment we met Kev at Scrummies he put us at ease and nothing was too much trouble .  He kept us informed with emails and suggested menus. On the night Kev and Nikki had set up without us even seeing them , the layout of the buffet was exceptional and all the guests couldn't believe the choice and presentation.  They were there throughout the whole time to assist with the amazing curry and scouse and to check at all times the tables were stocked and well presented.  We were amazed by the number of family and friends who have called over the weekend to tell us how fabulous the buffet was and to ask for their details. We cannot recommend them enough and can honestly say it was the best buffet ever !!! Thank you to you both so much and we will be in soon even if it just to have a scone and coffee !!!

Good to see you're thinking about us vegan/veggie lot out there 🙂 had a thought about possible 'food ideas' vegan 'Cakes' of some sort (Ste and mum each do fairy cakes and banana loaf but use/do them with less of everything!) mum and myself get a thing from THE Asda :p called 'nut roast' which is really nice.  The place offers a choice of decaf and 'normal' drinks as well as cold which is good. Myself and my WHOLE family find it so hard resisting the nice cake/cookies that are on the counter!

I called into Scrummies to buy a cake for my husband who was in hospital recovering from a serious operation. He was struggling with his appetite but had requested a fresh custard. I asked the gentleman if his custards were fresh as I was buying it for someone in hospital. He laughed and said all his cakes were fresh and as he served me he asked who the cake was for and when I told him it was for my husband. He said " tell your husband this is a gift from me, I hope he enjoys it". I got into my car in tears at his kindness. Incidentally my husband enjoyed the delicious cake.

Me and my boyfriend had a great breakfast at Scrummies. I heard the staff mention they were short staffed but they did everything possible to make our breakfast brilliant. He had the large breakfast which was really good value for money and cooked really well, we will be definitely be coming back.

Fabulous place, delicious food, brilliant service. 3 girls walked in absolutely starving just as this place was about to close but the guys stayed open so we could get a take away. We needed to line our stomachs before our mega night out, mission accomplishedthe pasta salads were perfect for soaking up the alcohol the following day best hangover food ever!! You guys are life savers. Bespoke salads, tons of fillings in the Rolls/wraps/barm or whatever you guys call them, freshly cooked prawns all delicious and served with a smile & friendly banter, will definitely be visiting again when I'm next in Liverpool.

We used to visit different cafes each Sunday and travel round Ormskirk, Crosby and Maghull looking for different offerings. Since we've found Scrummies about 6 months ago, we don't bother going anywhere else. Their breakfasts are perfect, lean bacon, quality sausages, lovely buttery doorstop toast. The service couldn't be friendlier, they'll accomodate any request. Their latest food hygiene rating is 5 out of 5 and I'm not surprised, it's spotless and you can tell they take pride in their place. Haven't tried anything but breakfasts but wouldn't hesitate to visit for lunch/dinner if I was in the area. If you need to wait, it's worth it, there's a reason it's busy!

I'm a big fan of Scrummies, having been introduced to it last year. It is handily located a minute's walk from Maghull station and along the route of the 231 bus. I always enjoy coming here, partly for the food and partly because I usually come here with someone really awesome. I haven't tried a great variety of the dishes here, preferring to go for my favourite of poached eggs on toast with a side of plum tomatoes, which is always excellent. I have also tried the scouse and the brownies, both of which are also very good. Coffee is good here, being Lavazza - the filter coffee is my favourite. The menu is wide ranging with a variety of meals, sandwiches, snacks, cakes and drinks so there will be something for everyone. The premises itself is spacious and nicely decorated, and the staff very friendly, pleasant and helfpul. All in all a nice place that is always good to pop into.

I have visited scrummies in the past and on my recent visit the food is just as good as it was in the past, value for money as the portions are big, I have recently found out that they now do outside catering from parties, christenings and funerals, I will certainly be using this company to do my buffet as the quality of food is excellent.

My second visit, this time I took my wife. She loved it and was surprised by the amount of food on her plate - she had ordered an omelette and a portion of chips on the side. I had to help her to finish the chips! She said it was the best omelette she had ever had! I had the scouse. Lovely lean meat, well-cooked and choice of beetroot or red cabbage (or both) I had the beetroot and there was plenty of it. We'll definitely go back soon.

I regularly visit Scrummies and on every visit I have been made to feel very welcome. Nickie and Kev always go above and beyond to accommodate special dietary requirements, which in a lot of other cafes and restaurants they don't do or make a fuss about it, but it's always no problem at Scrummies! I would definitely recommend this local, independent business for breakfast, lunch, or even just a hot drink to take on the train!

We came across this café when out on our Sunday walk. I called in and even though they were about to close, they kept the café open for us. Nothing was a problem and the staff were so lovely and friendly! Will definitely be back again soon. Excellent! 10/10
